GLOW RIDE 2019

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pedal-portsmouth-glow-ride-2019-tickets-71340359937

The event will take place on Saturday 26 October on Southsea seafront. Just like last year there will be an extended route and event village.

Be Bright, Be Seen! Get your 'glow on' and help us light up the night. Dress your bike and yourself in lights, hi-vis and other glow-in-the-dark accessories to make this the brightest event yet. There will be prizes for the best-lit cyclists so go all-out and wow the judges with your imaginative designs.

From 3pm you can enjoy food, drink, music, cycling-related activities and advice in our event village along Avenue De Caen. Before the ride starts you can have your bike checked over by our Bike Doctor team and chat with local bike suppliers.

Starting from 5.30pm on Clarence Esplanade, cyclists will ride the 3km traffic-free, circular route along the Esplanade, across Southsea Common, to Clarence Parade and the Ladies' Mile. Cyclists and spectators can enjoy music along the route.

Glow Ride is open to cyclists of all ages and abilities and is fully accessible for adapted bikes and child trailers. Our minis route on Avenue De Caen will enable very young cyclists to enjoy Glow Ride on a smaller scale.

The council's safer travel team will be on hand to help you get out on your bike this autumn and winter. They can give you cycling advice, show you how to enjoy quieter, cleaner routes around the city, provide information about self-guided cycle tours or social rides, as well as guidance about safe cycling.

Places are limited so to ensure you get to take part in this year's Glow Ride and claim your free glow bag we recommend that you book your place online, ahead of the event. This year we will be taking steps towards reducing our environmental impact and will be using up our existing stock of glow sticks. From 2020 single-use plastic glow sticks will no longer be given out at this event.
