At Westover Pre-School we are committed to supporting every child to develop the knowledge and skills they need for a successful future. We are passionate about nurturing the development of the whole child and work hard to make them an integral part of our amazing school community.
We are passionate about making a difference to the well-being and education of children in our care and have an outstanding team of key workers and an Early Years teacher who work closely together to share knowledge and experience; creating a truly unique Pre-School.
We believe learning through play is vital and our Pre-School environment is designed to allow our children to become immersed in practical, first-hand learning experiences with the opportunity to develop through exploration and enjoyment. We are extremely lucky to have a large indoor and outdoor environment that we will enjoy spending time in everyday. In Starfish class, the children will learn through continuous provision and enhanced provision available to them to access independently being leaders in their own learning. We are really lucky to be able to access, use and explore the whole school environment from the school hall to the forest area.
Our child-centred approach learning allows children to further develop existing interests, discover new curiosities and develop their creativity and imagination. We plan learning opportunities based on our knowledge of the children, their interests and next steps, allowing this to shape what we provide on a daily basis. All of our learning is linked to the 7 areas of learning and development as set out in the Early Years Framework.
