Week 4 – 27.06.25

June 27, 2025

This week we visited Manor Farm! The children had a fun-filled time. We experienced what a Victorian school was like with a very strict teacher and had to write on slates instead of paper!

We also visited a Victorian home with small beds and learned how the Victorians washed their clothes. We then practiced our washing skills like the Victorians and got the opportunity to use the mangle!

We also had the chance to feed lots of the animals on the farm – piglets, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens! We really enjoyed feeding the animals, however some of their food smelt a little bit like cereal.

Next week, on Tuesday, the children will be having a transition day into year 2. Throughout the week we discussed this and how we are feeling. Some children are very excited, and others are not so sure. Mrs Brown and I will be around at lunch time to check in, hear all about their day and give them a squeeze should they need one! If you have any questions, please come and catch us at the door or pop us an email at: parents@westoverprimary.co.uk.
