Week 5

October 6, 2025

Pufferfish have been learning about repeating patterns. We learnt that a pattern can be made with colours, shapes, or objects. The children have been developing their understanding of sequences in a playful and engaging way.

In Drawing Club, we’ve been reading the funny and inventive story Mrs Armitage on Wheels by Quentin Blake. The children were captivated by Mrs Armitage’s ever-evolving bicycle and have produced some fantastic illustrations inspired by the story. Their drawings are full of imagination, detail, and personality!

Phonics continues this week with the sounds ck, e, u, r, and we’re also working on tricky words. These are special words that can’t be sounded out and need to be learned by sight. The children are doing a brilliant job practising these and building their reading confidence day by day.

Our creative area is in full swing, and the children are loving junk modelling. However, we’re running low on materials! If you have any clean recycling items such as cardboard tubes, small boxes, plastic lids, or yoghurt pots, we’d be so grateful for donations.

Looking forward to another fun and messy week in Pufferfish!
