I hope you’re all enjoying the start of the autumn term! Here are a few important updates and reminders for the coming week:
Dentist Visit – Thursday 16th October
As part of the Brush Up scheme, the dentists will be visiting school on Thursday 16th in the morning. Only children who have parental consent will be seen by the dental team. All other children will remain in class and continue with their usual activities. If you haven’t yet returned your consent form and you would like to participate, please do so as soon as possible.
A big thank you to everyone who has already donated items for our junk modelling area! The children have been loving the creative opportunities. We’re still in need of more materials such as:
- Cardboard tubes
- Small boxes
- Plastic lids
- Clean yoghurt pots
Please drop any donations off at the classroom door. Your support is greatly appreciated!
We’ve attached some guidance on food safety for children aged 5 and under. Please take a moment to read through it. A key reminder: grapes, cherry tomatoes, and similar items must be cut length ways to reduce choking risk. Thank you for helping us keep lunchtime safe and enjoyable for all. The children are doing brilliantly in their phonics sessions! We’re currently focusing on oral blending and beginning to read CVC words such as dig, cat, sad, and pronouncing pure sounds is a vital foundation for these early reading skills. You can find more information and helpful videos on our phonics scheme via the link: For parents | Letters and Sounds
Support at home makes a huge difference, so thank you for all you’re doing!
After half term, your child will begin bringing home a reading book along with a reading log. Please keep an eye out for these in their book bags and enjoy sharing stories together at home.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a wonderful weekend, see you all Monday!
Mrs. Mackett
