Year 3 have spent the last few weeks becoming skilled Egyptologists in their study of Ancient Egypt! It has been extremely busy! Ask us about why the River Nile was so important in the success of this era over two thousand years ago. We have learnt about pharaohs, Gods, pyramids and so much more! We have followed the steps of mummification to mummify oranges – it was a messy affair but we were so impressed with how eager some of the class were to remove the orange’s organs – definitely some future surgeons in the making! The class have also had a super time designing and making their own canopic jars! We’ve talked about how we will use the jars to store secret sweets or pocket money, no actual organs involved! We hope to finish these over the next couple of weeks in our art lessons. In Science we have been learning about why our skeleton is so important. The class loved trying to find the bones in our bodies using masking tape. We also explored what happens when bones break and how they can be fixed. Thank you to our volunteer who had their arm bandaged up! Ask us which bone is the femur! IMG_
