Dolphins – Spring 1, Week 5

February 6, 2026

A great week in Dolphins!

Our Phonics this week has been based on ‘growing the code’. We have learnt two new graphemes: ou and ui for the /oo/ sound and revised our new tricky words from this half term.

In English, we have continued to build sentences and punctuate sentences and proper nouns, as well as joining two clauses with ‘and’.

In Maths, we have been recognising that 2-digit numbers are made up of tens and ones. The left digit represents the tens and the right digit represents the ones. We have focused on numbers 0-50.

In Computing, we gave the beebots directions on a grid from one image to another.

In Geography, we have been using 4-figure grid references to plot characters on a grid and used our 8 compass points to lead them to eachother.

On Tuesday next week, we have our exit point where we invite you to join us to create 3D sculptures. If anyone has any newspaper that we could use, please could you send this in with your child ASAP.

Have a lovely weekend.
