We’ve had assessment week in Year 2 this week and WOW your children have done so well. We do mini tests throughout the year but each term we complete more formal tests to ensure your children are on track and identify gaps we need to address. In reading, SPaG and maths, they have all made great progress and we are super proud of them.

In English, we have been building up to write a setting description for the pond in the Tadpole’s Promise book, living near Baffins Pond has been helpful for this! We’ve been using expanded noun phrases, commas for a list and conjunctions.

In Maths, we have practised adding using the column method and moved into subtraction too. This is a tricky concept so please, any homework practice is appreciated.

Our afternoons have been spent practising our Infants Voices next Tuesday. Please keep practising these songs, we can’t wait to show you! Miss Hathway has been busy planning a lovely afternoon for those children staying behind.
