This week we have been reading the book ‘Elephant in my kitchen’. It’s a lighted hearted story to support children to understand why we need to look after our world. We have set ourselves a challenge of putting all the rubbish in the bin and not accidently dropping it on the floor.
We had a lovely time using our sense of smell. We explored chives, garlic, rosemary and mint. The children were able to link the smells to different times in their lives such as ‘That smell like a Christmas tree’- Rosmary. ‘we have this on our pizza’ -Garlic. ‘That smells like my mum’s hot chocolate.’- Mint.
On Thursday we looked at Popart. The children were really excited to be able to paint on their face. We will continue to use this style of painting over the next few weeks.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend and have a lovely Mother’s Day.
