Welcome to the end of Week 2.
We’ve had a great week in Penguins.
English has included a letter to the bear to advise him whether to go to the city or stay in the forest. We made sure we included contracted words and conjunctions to give reasons and explain our opinions.
In Maths, we have a great understanding of money and can now make amounts in different ways as well as find change from £1.
In History, we enjoyed a workshop from the RNLI all about Grace Darling. See a couple of photos below. We got to see and hold a few sources to better understand what life was like for people living with no electricity and no Sat Navs. We got to act out the events to learn how Grace Darling saved people during a shipwreck. Next week, we have another workshop but, this time, about sea safety and how Grace Darling and the RNLI keep us safe nowadays.
As a whole school, we are doing a big push for handwriting. Your children have been working extremely hard to practise this in handwriting lessons as well as apply into English and topic work. Please do encourage the same care attention for homework to support them.
Thank you
