Week two down and progress is really starting to show! Firstly, a thank you to those who came to parents evening this week. It was so lovely to see you all and meet some of you properly. It is always a joy to share your child’s successes with you.
In our writing, we have continued building sentences using a subject, verb, object and a where. We have worked hard to ensure they are all punctuated with a capital letter and a full stop. Using adjectives, we have described the nouns to challenge ourselves even further.
In maths, we have focused on numbers 11-20, looking at one more or one less, comparing and even adding and subtracting one and two! Using tens frames, number lines and multilink, we have shown a strong understanding of this and used full sentences to explain ‘how we know’.
In phonics, we have learnt four new sounds:
/oa/ o go
/igh/ i tiger
/ai/ a paper
/ee/ e he
and four new tricky words:
Mr
Mrs
Ms
ask
You may have heard that we have started getting ready for our joint nativity with Pufferfish. Dolphins will be narrating the play whilst Pufferfish take the role of the characters. We have been learning songs and will soon be sending lines home for you to rehearse with them so their reading is loud and clear. A letter will be sent out shortly with more details.
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Hathway
