Dolphins have been superb in Phonics this week! We have had a ‘grow the code’ week where we have recapped all our new phase 5 sounds and tricky words, sorting them into the graphemes used to create different sounds and identifying these within sentences. The focus and concentration from all the children has been fantastic!
In English, we have begun our new class text, ‘The Tear Thief”. A story about an invisible creature who steals children’s tears of pure sadness to light up the moon has inspired us to create sentences including a subject, verb, object and a where. At the start of each English lesson, we have begun with retrieval practice, either completing a ‘flashback’ of skills we have already learnt or writing dictated sentences.
In Maths, we have been exploring strategies for addition and subtraction. Using number tracks, known facts and the ‘make ten’ method, we have been super resilient in our learning!
On Friday, we completed the Santa Fun Run to raise money!
A letter went out this week including your tickets for the Nativity. Please ensure that your child brings in their Christmas jumper outfit (in a named bag) next Friday (12.12.2025) for a full dress rehearsal to the rest of the school. This can then stay in school for our performances to parents Monday and Tuesday the following week.
Have a lovely weekend.
