A short week this week but still packed full of learning and fun!
In our phonics this week, we have looked at the following graphemes:
/ch/ tch (match)
/ch/ ture (adventure)
/ar/ al (half)
/ar/ a (father)
and the following tricky words:
because
eye
In English, we have been building upon skills in preparation to write a retell using days of the week, based on our class text, ‘Stanley’s Stick’. In Maths, we have focused on addition and subtraction within 20, looking at finding the difference and comparing in particular.
In computing, we looked at grouping and sorting. We grouped and sorted classroom equipment and then took our learning outside (given the sunshine) to sort and group playground equipment and natural resources.
In PSHE, we had a workshop on mental health and wellbeing which was delivered by SCARF.
It was brilliant to see all the children embracing World Book Day on Thursday. We completed lots of different activities to promote a love of reading and loved seeing what characters we had each chosen to dress up as!
We hope you enjoy the Inset day tomorrow and have a lovely weekend. Let’s hope the sun holds up!
