Spring 1 – Week 5

February 14, 2026

We have been incredibly busy in Pufferfish, and I’m so proud of the children’s hard work this half term!

Phonics Update

Our phonics assessments are now complete. Well done to all of the children for their fantastic effort.

New reading books, carefully matched to your child’s current phonics level, will be sent home in the first week back after half term. These books are closely aligned with the sounds your child knows, helping to build confidence, fluency and enjoyment.

Please continue to support your child at home by:

  • Reading regularly (little and often is best!)
  • Revisiting sounds
  • Practising tricky words
  • Talking about the story to develop comprehension

You can find helpful videos, pronunciation guides and support materials here:
