It has been an incredibly hot week. We have spent a lot of time using water to keep cool. Please don’t worry if your child has come home with a full water bottle, we have been refreshing the water throughout the day.
This week used a video as a stimulus for writing. Something Fishy – THE LITERACY SHED Here is the link if you wish to watch it. From this video we thought what it would be like to travel through a washing machine to a sea world. The children had wonderful suggesting such as ‘id go and look for a real mermaid’ or ‘I want to see a real shark and pufferfish.
In maths we have looked again at capacity, this time we have focused on how much each container can hold.
FARM TRIP.
We are looking forward to the farm trip on Monday. Please remember everybody will need to bring a packed lunch. There will be NO school dinners as we will be on the trip.
We will be topping up your child’s water bottle throughout the day. If your child has sun cream at school, we will also be reapplying this at lunchtime. Its looks like its going to be a hot day so sun hats are advised.
As the letter said this week, you are able to wear your school t-shirt and PE short for the trip if you think this would be more comfortable rather than school shorts/skirt.
On the trip Lenni’s Dad, Cory’s mum, Violet’s mum and Hudson’s mum will be joining us, along with myself, Mrs Fuller and Mrs Mackett.
I look forward to sharing the photos with you all.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs Newton
