Seals had an amazing week with their trip to Butser Ancient Farm, where they learned all about the Bronze and Stones Age housing, clothing, weapons, food and fence making. We identified artefacts – clothing and weapons – and discussed their uses. We had the opportunity to try wattling – ask your children about the oak posts, saplings and fences! We then made clay pottery baubles and decorated them with items we found in hedges and around the farm. It was a very hot and smoky day but the children represented Westover Primary superbly, and impressed our leader with our knowledge from Mrs Rutter’s history lessons. We will upload photos from the trip next week. Watch this space! Thank you to Mrs Donnelly and Mr Keeping who came with us – we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
