Another busy one in Year 6 as we approach the end of term! We have focused on some key English skills this week, looking specifically at formal language and the voice that comes through within their writing. In Maths, we are looking at fractions, decimals and percentages. The children have so far been understanding this really well and able to link their knowledge of fractions – some even applying their new knowledge to more challenging, open-ended problem-solving tasks!

In Science, we are looking at shadows and we started by creating our own shadow puppets (which we linked to our class text, Coraline), creating a scene from shadows. Earlier in the week, we had Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in to talk to the children about safety around fire.
