It’s been a jam-packed week in Year 5. We have continued our fractions learning, moving onto adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominators, different denominators as well as starting addition of mixed numbers which will continue into the harder concept of subtracting them next week. In English, we have put our ‘formal heads’ on and are writing a letter from a ‘bank’ (actually a spy agency) to Alex Rider based on our book ‘Stormbreaker’. In Science we have continued our space and Earth learning. The children are itching to start their double page spreads about all of their knowledge, gained from their Science lessons, next week! On Wednesday, the children came home with their papers – please take the time to sit down with them and celebrate the successes. They all did brilliantly! Reading came out as our area of weakness so please continue to read at home as it really is the gateway to everything. Thank you!
