Dolphins’ Class have had a super start to the new term! The class was very excited to learn that Westover will be getting some new guinea pig friends soon, and are determined to earn as many Kindness Points as they can over the next few weeks. They have worked hard to earn an amazing 9 Kindness Points out of a possible 10 this week!
On Tuesday, we found a spaceship that had crashed in the playground! The children used their detective skills to work out what might have happened and who the spaceship might belong to! Evidence included the spaceship, some little yellow footprints, followed by the special delivery of a book called ‘Beegu’. We will continue to study the book and keep our eyes looking for any new evidence that might come to light next week!
In PSHE, we looked at the importance of sleep and discussed our bedtime routines. The children identified why we need a good bedtime routine and what parts of their routine helped them prepare for a good nights sleep. In Geography, we have looked at what a compass is and what they can be used for. The children then worked in pairs to navigate to different parts of the playground using North, East, South and West. Next week, we will begin to use directional language to describe how to travel to different locations around the globe.
