This week has been another fantastic one in Dolphins’ Class! We earned 9 more Kindness Points towards the Guinea Pigs this week, with our kind gestures and showing the school values throughout the week. A big thank you as well to all of the grown-ups who joined us for our exit point on Thursday. It was lovely to see you all and your children loved sharing their learning with you too!
In English this week, the children have been learning and writing lots of facts about different kinds of egg, ready to create our egg spotter’s guides next week. In Maths, the class has been showing off their problem solving skills. We have looked at how to solve word problems involving finding a difference and how to show our working out as pictorials and equations. In PSHE, we discussed the importance of keeping safe when using the internet and that one of the risks of the internet is when children or grown-ups share pictures of themselves or of others. Sometimes these can go to people that weren’t meant to see them and we talked about how this can be harmful. For more information, visit CEOP’s safety education website: Jessie & Friends. In PE, we practiced different ball skills, including rolling, underarm throwing and catching. This week, Dolphins have also been developing our independence by practicing the skill of zipping up their own coats, particularly on these chilly days.
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, Dolphins’ have participated in some mindfulness activities including meditation, rainbow breathing and mindfulness colouring. We also got to try something new this week with our Boogie Bounce session. The children all had a go and they absolutely loved it!
On Monday (10th), we will be going on a short local walk as part of this half term’s Geography learning. We will be walking come rain or shine, so please send you child in with a coat and wearing suitable footwear.
