Spring 1 Week 5

February 7, 2025

Children’s mental health week.

This week we have focused on how to recognise when our minds need a break. We have used the term ‘when our minds feel busy’. The children have been able to describe times in their life when their minds have felt busy such as; getting ready for school, shopping, when being asked to do lots of things and tidying their room.

Thank you joining us for our exit point on Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed your invitation. I’m sure you all enjoyed yourself as much as the children have. We love ‘Spa time’ in Pufferfish, its something we will continue throughout the year.

Boogie bounce was a great success on Thursday. The teacher thought they were year 1, their behaviour was exceptional.

As part of mental health week, we looked at an artist called Alma Thomas. Alma used small bits

of paper to create her artwork. We took inspiration from her and created feeling bottles by using tiny bit of paper. This will be on display in the corridor for all to see.

We couldn’t read ‘We’re going on a lion hunt’ without actually going on a lion hunt. Pufferfish reenacted the story and even found a bear cave!

Well done to Pufferfish, they are in the silver book this week for their fantastic writing.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
