The children have had an exciting week. We have read the story ‘the Gruffalo’ and had lots of exciting activities based around the text The children have thoroughly enjoyed making their own Gruffalo masks and building their own creature out of play doh. The children have been very good at counting and matching the numbers to its representation. This week was children’s mental health week, we started the week with circle times where we spoke about how we were feeling and what makes us feel that way. We ended the week with a boogie bounce session… I think the adults had just as much fun as the children! We have had lots of discover and do time outside using our new small world paw patrol and play mobil toys thinking about what could happen to the characters, practicing squeezing and squirting paint using spray bottles and pipettes, and building an obstacle course for the cars using the construction blocks.
The children really enjoyed having the parents who could make it to our stay and play session on Wednesday. If you couldn’t make it please don’t worry we have some more planned!
Thank you again for those wow moments that the children are bringing back in to share. If your child comes home with a bit of yellow paper that is where you can write their wow moments for them to share with the class. This could be anything outstanding they are doing at home, something new they are trying or something they are really proud of and want to share.
We have also come across some useful links for supporting young children sleep safely, please find them attached.
