Welcome back Dolphins! We’ve had a lovely first week of the new half term. It has been lovely to have some sunshine too!
In English, we have started our new book – The Three Little Pigs. This week we have fully immersed ourselves into the story, role-playing and mapping our story together in different ways. We finished the week by starting to retell the story in our own words and will continue this next week. In Maths, we have continued our unit on Fractions. We learned what quarters are and how to find quarters of objects practically – cutting up slices of bread into quarters. We then began to find quarters of quantities within 30 – the children have become experts on this during the week! In PSHE, we looked at Rights and Respect, specifically focusing on what a behaviour is and writing promises to ourselves. Please ask your child what their promise is and how they will try to keep it!
We are all very excited about our trip to Manor Infants next Wednesday to take part in Portsmouth Music Hub’s Infant Voices Festival. Please encourage your child to practise the songs at home so we are as confident as possible. Our solo song is I Wish I Had A Gavel and our other songs are:
Just a little reminder that children should leave any toys and precious items at home as they can become a distraction in lessons or can get lost very easily.
