We have had another fun filled week in Starfish. The children have enjoyed reading our story of the week which has been ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ . They have built their own beanstalks using the construction materials, designed what their beanstalks would look like, painted beanstalks on the playground and measured them, built a new giants castle in the sand and practiced their counting skills when measuring the length of a beanstalk using the multi link.

Our sound of the week has been ‘r’, they have tried so hard to say the sound and recognise items with it at the start. If they spot anything on their travels with an ‘r’ in it get the children to practice saying the sound, they are getting ever so good at it considering it is a tricky sound.

The children have been practicing their action rhymes this week before lunchtime, our nursery rhyme has been ‘row, row, row your boat’ and they have enjoyed joining in. They have also been using their fingers for counting rhymes like ’10 little monkeys jumping on the bed’ which we have been very good at.

Some of the children have got to visit the Guinea pigs during our library slot, one child had said that they ‘really love them, especially Biscoff’.
