Sea Otters should be so proud of themselves this week!
We sat three assessments: maths, reading and SPaG. We have seen some fantastic progress from individuals across the board. This can only be put down to their hard work in lessons, engagement in homework and resilience! It was a joy to share this progress with you over the last two parents’ evenings.
In English, we have begun to explore our new class text, ‘The Boy Who Grew Dragons’ where we will be writing a non-chronological report about a fruit or vegetable that grows into a mythical create, just like in the book! We have had cauliflowers transforming into ghosts, blueberries into krakens and even a cucumber into the loch ness monster! What a creative bunch!
In Maths, we have concluded our decimals unit. The children did themselves proud in their assessments demonstrating how hard they have worked! We have moved on to area and perimeter which we will continue until the end of the half term.
On Wednesday afternoon, we worked our socks off to impress GB gymnast Kelly Simm! It was incredible to hear her story and be inspired by her ‘never give up’ attitude.
If the children are anything like Miss Hathway, they will be tired from such a hard working week so rest up ready for a great week next week!
