Starfish have had a fabulous first week back after Easter, we have settled really well back into the routines of Pre-School. The have noticed lots of new things in our inside classroom and outside. The children have particularly enjoyed climbing on the rock-climbing wall outside, the children have been so good climbing up the wall that we are now challenging them to see if they can climb side to side.

The children have read lots of story books with the adults in the room, one book being ‘The life cycle of a Sunflower’. After the children read the story they then went outside to plant their sunflower seeds, they have been very good at remembering what the seeds need and reminding us to water them each day.

We have been working hard on our literacy and maths skills this week. We have practiced finding our names and trying to write the first letter of our names using different things such as pens, crayons and paint. There was also a maths game this week called ‘Splat!’  where they were given a number and they had to find it and splat the number with a splatter. The children are getting really good at recognising our numbers.
