It’s been wonderful having Pufferfish back this week. They have all been full of wonderful stories to share.
Our new text is Hansel and Gretel, the children were all excited to read this story as a few hadn’t read it before. They have enjoyed talking about the witch and using their witch voice to talk to each other. I’ve added some photos of the work they have produced this week. They are working really hard on their letter formation and remembering their finger spaces in the writing. I am very proud of them.
In maths we have been looking at doubling and half of a number . They have all been able to demonstrate how to double a number and what it equals to. They were then able to do the opposite and explain half of a number is equal to another number. For example, half of 10 is equal to 5!
Today we went a little crazy. We carried out a science experiment. We wanted to know what the best material would be to keep us dry. So, we tested paper, cotton and a plastic sheet. Pufferfish took turns sitting under the material whilst I poured water on top. It was safe to say that plastic is the best material. I hope they all enjoy sharing the experience with you as the laughter that was erupting from them was infectious.
As the summer weather arrives, we encourage you to send in a named bottle of sun cream that can stay at school. We will help Pufferfish to apply their own cream before lunch time. We spend a lot of time outside and applying sun cream will hopefully reduce the chances of burning.
Just as a reminder, next week we have class photos and the school book fair. The book fair will take place after school in the hall.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
