What a lovely week we have had down in Starfish.

This week we have made the most out of the sunshine for our discover and do time. We have had lots of fun in the water tray filling different containers up and pouring them into different sized containers, it was very interesting seeing that not all containers had enough room for the water we had collected. The children have made lots of tasty meals in the mud kitchen for all of us adults, we have mixed turmeric, water and leaves to make a delicious meal. They have tested their counting skills after playing hook a duck, they read the number underneath and showed us by holding that many fingers up.

We have also had lots of fun learning going on in the classroom too. We have had to say aloud the number pebble we find, count that many animals out and then we even had a practice at writing the numbers! We were so good at this. The children sang the song for 5 little speckle frogs removing the frogs when they were singing.

As we are spending a lot more time outside than inside whilst the weather is warm, we are encouraging the children to bring sunhats, water bottles and sun cream into school. When bringing sun cream in for your child please could you bring it in labelled with their name and pass to an adult in the classroom to store safely for when we get the children to reapply it.
