Summer 1 Week 3

May 9, 2025

What a week we have had!

With the anticipation of the residential experience building throughout the week, the children have remained focused in their learning. In English, we have explored monologues. We will be writing monologues as a Viking (Biorn) who is determined to reach Valhalla. We have looked at how we can portray Biorn’s thoughts and feelings through this passionate speech. In maths, we have had to be super resilient when solving multi-step problems involving money and measure.

The excitement came at the end of the week…our two day residential experience! We had the most amazing time!

On Thursday, we became thrill seekers as we took on the rides at Paulton’s Park! We laughed, we screamed (Miss Hathway very loudly) and at most, we enjoyed ourselves. During the workshop, we became experts on rides, understanding the physics behind them. At our sleepover Thursday night, we feasted on a well deserved fish and chips and maturely approached the new experience of sleeping over at school. The children were fantastic! On Friday, we sunk our teeth into the multitude of water sports offered at the Andrew Simpson Water Centre. It was lovely to see the children spurring each other on and smiling throughout!

Your children truly showcased what a credit they are to you and they should be so proud of themselves.

As much fun we had, I am sure that we are ALL looking forward to the comfort of our own beds and a restful weekend.

Well done Year 4, what a pleasure it is to be your teacher and share this experience with you!
