Welcome back! We’ve had a lovely first few days of the new half term. We’ve even noticed a few signs of Spring!
In English, we’ve continued with our Minpins unit using the er and est suffixes to create comparative and superlative adjectives to create sentences. We will be using the range of adjectives and adverbs to write a narrative story about the Minpins.
In Maths, we have begun our next unit on Fractions with the children working on halves and quarters and even using the fraction to find fractions of amounts!
In PE, we started tennis which was really fun. Just a gentle reminder that all chn need trainers or plimsols for PE, especially as we hope to go outside soon.
Our Science unit began with recapping different types of animals and classifying these into groups: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, birds and insects. We explored why a whale is a mammal and why a spider isn’t an insect.
We are super excited about our trip to Manor Infants next Wednesday to take part in Portsmouth Music Hub’s Infant Voices Festival. Please encourage your child to practise the songs at home so we are as confident as possible. ‘My Dream Job’
