Week 3

May 8, 2025

Exciting news…we have achieved our second day this year where 100% children were in class ready to learn by 8:45!! Well done everyone, this is an amazing way to start the day and show that you are ready for your learning. Thank you parents for your support…let’s see how many more times we can achieve this before the Summer holidays!

On Tuesday, we began learning how to join our handwriting. While several children found this tricky, we had lots of resilience and children keen to practise this in their English. As they move into Year 3, they will be expected to join so lots of time to practise.

In Maths, we have started to look at shape; counting the sides, vertices and lines of symmetry. We’ve even been on a right angle detective hunt!!

In Science, we tested our heart rate before and after exercise. The children were fascinated to compare their beats per minute and learn about the average bpm for different ages. They then designed physical activities with their friends using PE equipment. This was a fantastic application of their PE skills and involved some great team work. It was lovely to see.
