The children continue to settle brilliantly into school life and we are so proud of how well they are adapting to our daily routines. They are becoming more confident each day and are building lovely friendships within the class.
This week we had our first full PE changing session. The children did a fantastic job and showed great perseverance as they practised changing independently. To help build their confidence even further, we would really appreciate your support at home with developing these important self-help skills. Practising fastening buttons, taking off and putting on jumpers and T-shirts, and putting on socks will all help the children become increasingly independent during the school day.
Phonics has now begun, and the children have made an amazing start. They have already learned eight sounds and we are excited to continue building on this strong foundation over the coming weeks.
Next week, the children will begin guided reading sessions using wordless books. These books provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop their storytelling skills, talk about what they can see, and build confidence as early readers.
The children have also loved spending time outdoors, especially enjoying the recent rainy weather! It has been wonderful to see them exploring, investigating and learning outside in their wellies and waterproof clothing.
A few gentle reminders:
- Please ensure that all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled.
- Library books should be returned on Monday so that the children can choose a new book to bring home and enjoy.
