Week 3 in Penguins

June 19, 2026

Your children have worked extremely well this week to complete their Year 2 SATs. Your children have applied themselves beautifully and we’ve seen some outstanding progress as a result. These results are used to inform teacher judgements for the end of year but is a great way to assess progress as they are completed in test conditions so the work is completely independent.

Aside from SATs, this week, we have had a couple of lovely PE sessions as we practise our athletics ready for sports day. There’s a (mostly) healthy competitive nature in Penguins and lots of encouragement being given to support each team.

In Geography, we have been learning about comparing our coast with the river in Zambia while considering the physical and human features as well as the uses of both.

Next week, it promises to be very hot!! This is great for observing our plants grow in Science but not so great for us!! Please ensure your child has a water bottle, wears sun cream to school and brings a hat to protect at playtimes.

Thank you
