This week, we’ve written some fantastic instructions for Rosie to help her make a flying machine, most of us published these too and showed a huge improvement in handwriting! In Maths, we have been learning about quarter past and quarter to times including telling the time in 5 minutes intervals! This is incredibly tough and your children are working really hard to apply their knowledge of skip counting in 5s to tell the time accurately. In DT this week, we followed a design criteria to make a chair for Baby Bear. We had to roll, squash, bend and tape the pieces of paper to attach and secure them. We made sure the chairs were stiff, strong and stable so that they supported Baby Bear (or a penguin). What impressed me the most was the teamwork and resilience showed by the children as it was quite hard and frustrating at times but we didn’t give up (much like Rosie in the book we’ve been learning!)
We can’t wait to show you these and more at our exit point on Wednesday afternoon.
