Spring 2 Week 4

March 21, 2025

It has been lovely to see many of you at parents’ evening to share the children’s love for school and their progress. Thank you.

Shark Class has shown great resilience this week as they have taken their assessments. All children have received their scores and have had chance to be able to look through their papers (post-marking) and reflect on how well they did and the areas they need to work on.

In Maths, we have been learning how to calculate the perimeter of rectilinear shapes – including those with missing sides (this has come home as homework so I look forward to seeing if they can still do this out of the classroom). In English, we revisited modal verbs and adverbs for possibility which we then put into an internal monologue showing the son’s feelings towards his father’s dream.

On Wednesday, we had the gymnast – Kelly Simm – come in and complete exercises with us. We all gave 100% and were left red-faced by the end of it!

In Science, we looked at irreversible changes and how during these changes, a chemical reaction occurs. During our experiment, the gas from vinegar and baking soda was able to blow up a whole balloon!

Next week, we will be filling some SPaG gaps (shown through the assessments) in English as well as starting to write a letter.
