This week in Turtles Class we have had some real highs! First, delving into our algebra unit in maths, looking at function machines, expressions and substitution. The children really had to use the value of resilience to persevere through some real challenging problems and understand new ways of working. They were brilliant in making the link with ratio and sequences too! We also had the chance to read with Year 3 in the sunshine on World Book Day! The Year 6’s really did us proud by listening attentively to the Year 3 readers, supporting them in good book choices and even then taking in turns to read to them! It encouraged some of our less confident readers to push themselves out of their comfort zone, which was a real pleasure to see! Finally we had some beautiful writing outcomes today when looking at setting descriptions. The use of their figurative language and imagery shone through and the creativity in every individual piece was fantastic!
