Week 4 Turtle Class

February 3, 2025

What a week! This week in Turtle Class, the children completed their news reports based on an event of their choice in WWII. I have been so impressed with the quality of writing and editing that went on throughout the week and cannot wait to read them all in full. In Maths, we are looking at converting units – although this is a challenging topic, the children are working hard to remember the conversions and have been resourceful in referring to posters and working walls. We had some interesting conversations in PSHE, looking at keeping ourselves safe and the meaning of legal and illegal. The children have also designed their menus in full this week for their 3-course meal which they will be cooking in Week 6 (stay tuned for some pictures of their masterpieces!) – don’t forget to pay online for the donation towards ingredients if you haven’t already. In History, we looked at the role of women in WWII. The children were especially interested in the propaganda posters and were so creative in designing their own.

Don’t forget that we have our trip to the D-Day museum next week, which the children are really looking forward to!
